An interesting watch. It's presented as a collection of video/image files from the perspective of 2 war journalists. The visuals hold up for the 2000s. It has some interesting political commentary but avoids making any bold statements. It requires a lot from the viewer but rewards that effort.

Lost In Translation

I'm really impressed with how well this film holds up. It's such a perfect character study of 2 people stuck in a culture they don't fully understand connecting with each other. I probably missed out on relating to some of that alienation by understanding Japanese though.

KPop Demon Hunters

I think I might be the only person in the world who didn't like this. It offended me in a lot of ways.

Iron Lung (Film)

I'm impressed at Markiplier's foray into film making. I was particularly taken by the camera work to build tension and amp up the claustrophobia of being trapped in a metal box under an ocean of blood. While I wouldn't say it's scary, it is definitely thrilling. It's a good time.

Outer Wilds

This game has been in my backlog for ages and I'm so glad I got around to it. It's a real masterpiece of narrative design. And the "Aha" moments when you solve a puzzle are unparalleled. I said it a lot while playing, but the "game" is what happens in your mind as you solve the mystery.

Reservoir Dogs

This really embodies what I imagine as a Quintin Tarantino film. The combination of ultra violence and non-linear narrative makes this film really engaging as you try to figure out how everything comes together. Also what an incredible ending.

All You Need is Kill

This was great! Action packed and fast pacing so there is always something happening. Really liked the protagonists and the animation + art style was amazing. I haven't seen Edge of Tomorrow yet but now I'd like to so I can compare them.

Definitely check this out.

Lupin the IIIrd the Movie: Fujimi no Ketsuzoku (The Immortal Bloodline)

I'm a Lupin fan but I really haven't watched enough. Was glad to watch this in cinemas, and it was a fun time. It reminded me a lot of JoJo's Part 2 weirdly enough. Only complaint is I think Fujiko was too much of a damsel here

No Other Choice

This is Park Chan-wook's latest film but I wouldn't have guessed that. The premise is great but it's more a dark comedy as opposed to a drama.

The directing and cinematography is immaculate, but much of the humor fell flat for me. It's hard to care when nothing feels tense.

Hyakuemu.

I watched this while on vacation in Japan last year but was waiting for the digital release to re-watch it with subtitles.

It is a masterpiece. It perfectly captures the passion and effort required to be the absolute best. Some of the best animation put to film too.

Strong recommend!

I might do some research and try again later.

After optimizing I have gotten it down from 35 seconds to 2.5 seconds🎉

Most obvious thing I had forgotten to do: Only check if a rectangle is valid if it already has a better area than the best so far.
