It's been a while but I think I'm getting close to cracking this diy sofubi thing. Behold BUFONGUS v2. I updated the master sculpt, created a new mold, and made some test pulls, including the most successful pull of this entire journey. Stay tuned for more!

Current progress on custom painted Zetton. Need to paint the arms and legs and then hit the carapace with a few more layers of turbo dork Skyrat (not sponsored by @turbodork.bsky.social ). Should I paint it a metallic silver or a non-metallic silver? #ultraman #kaiju #sofubi #painting #custom

Sun god Inti
I was inspired by my Ecuadorian heritage to sculpt the creator sun god of the Inca people. I drew some sketches and looked up illustrations online and this is what I came up with. I like it, and I'm hoping I can create additional accessories (like a sun mask). Currently stands @ 7.5"

I am a big fan of mycology and frogs are cool. I was actually inspired by "UFO Mushroom Invasion" by Shirakawa Marina. I took that inspiration further, and imagined a toad colonized by cordyceps. The final figure will have some cordyceps to glue onto the back!

Zetton's design just speaks to me. I already have a few figures as reference, so it made sense to start practicing in clay with a head sculpt. It was easy enough and I was able to learn how to better handle clay. This might lead to more ultra/Kaiju sculpts

1) Alien Zetton finger puppet
2) Toadyceps/mycofrog
3) Sun god Inti
The plan is to finish post-processing these figures, and eventually cast them in vinyl or resin and maybe show them around at craft or toy fairs later this year

Work in progress... A new figure sculpt. I have to touch it up and prepare it before I can start the molding/casting process. We'll see how it all turns out!
