I think everyone accepts that doctors need to make a good income to properly compensate them for the investment they've made in education and the risks they are taking. But we've got a bunch of people involved now without that entitlement, but who expect to profit disproportionately from healthcare.

Full credit to @morifilmlab for the developing and scanning. One of these days, I'd like to get set up to do it at home. But right now I don't have time and the investment in scanning gear is beyond me.

That shutter ain't moving. Warmed everything up with my wife's hairdryer but it's still stuck. Will try lighter fluid next.

Ooooo! Now I really hope this thing works! Loaded some b&w film in it yesterday but I've been too busy with work to shoot it.

I've been thinking of making a zine. Concept is: document a trip by train from my place in Belgium to a mountain in Switzerland or Austria that has a cable car going to a point below the summit, hike the rest of the way to the top and do a SOTA ham radio activation there. What do you do with them?

My wife knows I will tolerate flea markets, so long as I can occasionally buy cameras.

What I'm doing is looking at stuff people have discarded as junk.

No monetary value for sure. But a few people like them. I'm going to put some funky Lomography film in it and take happy snaps.

It lives! Put in fresh batteries and loaded some cheap Agfa bland and white film. Seems to be taking photos. Flash works. We'll see...

With any thrift store camera, it's a gamble. For €5, I'll take it.

Konica cameras are supposed to be pretty good. I might not wait to get new light seals before I shoot a roll - just put some electrical tape on the gaps. I'm too excited.

I have Davidson ancestry from the Borders region. Also some North Yorkshire (Rapier, Shipman) and Scottish lowlands (Scott) ancestors. Haven't researched past early 19th and late 18th century.

Yeah one of the camera stores in Brussels has a repair guy who they send jobs. The store owner looked at the last vintage camera I came in with and told me it wasn't worth the cost of repair. Main problem was that one of the lens elements had balsam separation, so not worth working on the shutter.

You were in Portobello Road?

The first day I was in London, I was so excited that I caught the tube to the station near Parliament, walked from there to Buckingham Palace, then to Trafalgar Square, then down The Strand and Fleet St to St Pauls and from there to Tower Bridge. I was knackered by that point.
