I don't think they really expected the series to go as long as it has. They also probably didn't have a long thought out plan for their narrative and just made it up as they went along.

Yeah, modern day stuff just fell apart after this. They could have had him live, then he has a kid and you train the kid and just keep going down the family line with apprentices or something.

Thanks for the reply. You guys did so well on Halloween and Ash vs. Evil Dead, that the potential for other horror franchises like Scream, Hellraiser, Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Nightmare on Elm Street, Child's Play, and others would be amazing. I hope they get more!
