These infrastructure injustices hailed as urban “renewal” are finally being seen for what they are and Lafayette is perfectly positioned for a #NorthsideRenaissance to join #LocalFirst action that leaves NOBODY behind. Progress doesn’t mean repeating the past. Let’s build connections, not walls.

#BlackWallStreet is a compelling example, but in Lafayette, Hwy 90 also cuts through the northeastern part of the city and is paired with industrial- and commercial-heavy zoning that further restricts resident access to transport and local leading to the current food deserts we can see now.
