Yes he paved the way for Trump, and I dare say he lived to regret it. I’m not trying to rehabilitate him. I didn’t try to rehabilitate Colin Powell either & he, too, was responsible for that war, predicated on a lie. But I don’t think either of them were out for themselves in the same way as Trump.

I never liked Cheney & disagreed with his politics. But, I don’t doubt that he espoused what he thought was good for the country. He made mistakes, a big one being his push for more power in the presidency. But he was an American first & always; despite what it cost Liz, he stood up for democracy.
