I'd go with a bad biker gang, one that is constantly roaming around looking for trouble. When I see crows flying, cawing away, to join up with others who are kicking up a fuss, they remind me of dogs - one barks and they all bark with excitement, even though they have no clue why they're barking!

Funny, so do I - I keep a separate file of multi-species dining together!

I keep thinking EVGR are super rare here, but my records indicate that I have had them in my yard 5 of the past 6 years, though most visits have been just a few for one day. The exception was the year I had about 2 dozen for a few days! I do have a PIGR in my 5MR, just not my yard.

Thanks, I hadn't seen that. Tadoussac is famous for that warbler report! Seems like Redpolls have gone further south in central NA than here - I'm seeing reports of them in the Chicago area; still just the odd one here. If I get a PIGR at my feeders I'm not sure I'll survive my excitement!

Hopefully you'll get them, it sure looks like a big irruption year!

😅 smart move!

A good friend of mine made that for me. It's like a piece of art - my partner thought it was a shame to put it out for the birds to make a mess on! She's right that it is gorgeous!

So many subspecies and hybrids, they are very confusing!

Lucky you!

Wow, I would have called both of those slate-colored. Here's a Cassiar that I had in my yard a few years back

Wow! Very jealous. Just today I went to get my local titmouse fix!

@jeope.bsky.social Would be happy to except that they were a one day wonder. Hoping for more, and hope you get them. I on the other hand, am dreaming of pine grosbeaks! 😀
