Only for thoughts about Bradford City.
We have a traditional #9, Humphrys is not that and isn't being asked to play like that. It would give us a different option.

And in a related note, could you imagine marking Humphrys for 75 minutes and then Swann comes on? Don't think he's been great recently, but he never stops. #bcafc

Go out wide and/or play the channels. He does look dangerous when he drifts out, but part of that is because the wide forward underlap and this confuses defences. He can be frustrating, but moments like the penalty today is what he does to defences. I'd like another forward in January, for sure, so

Or whether they try to play out. I want Cook to be able to play 90 minutes and fit perfectly into our playing style, but I'm not sure either is true. I like him from the bench, but other fans are insistent he should start. I don't think GA wants to start Cook, but we will see. #bcafc

What happens (we will probably need it on Saturday)?

I wouldn't be doing anything radical, but making a small tweak to see what happens in a game that has no real repercussions feels like it might be a sensible thing to do. GA might just say "We want to win" which is fair too. #bcafc

But we can't abandon what worked because he's been our hero for so long. Use him when you need him and play to his strengths when you do, but don't go against what you bought the rest of the squad to do.

Can't help but feel if we did, we'd be playing L2 type football.

that. That's why I think I prefer him off the bench in the main. It's OK to try to change approach if you need something, but wouldn't want to do it just because of one player. I don't think Cook should go. I think he has a part to play and could nick that goal when we need one. I love Andy Cook

Them.

Not our best by any stretch, but you can't be free flowing and expansive every game. It's just that we haven't been that for a while and it's starting to set in. If we can keep picking up points when we play like this, hopefully a little change here and there could set us off again. #bcafc

Things happening.

Read in @widthofapost.bsky.social that their disallowed goal maybe should have stood - haven't seen it back, but my first thought (from the top tier of the Kop) was that there looked like there was an offside. Can't say for sure, but there didn't seem to be much argument from

J Wright would head anything - wish he would try to head a ball when it's a foot off the floor though, had a great game. Other than the backpass Touray was excellent, T Wright can be questionable defensively but thought he did OK. Power was solid and Sarce was always sniffing around getting

Of the park.
Walker was excellent - 3 top saves. Think Bobby's touch and turn is getting better. Actually thought Humphs played well today, just needs to be more decisive - either go or pass but he seems to get caught between and does neither. He worked hard, won balls and held up play when he could

We play against teams that are playing 3 central midfield players. Power and whoever plays alongside can't mark three people without leaving gaps and we always have a struggle when they come to VP. It doesn't matter in what way you employ that 3rd player, but don't let us get overrun in the middle

Change.
Three points was the important part of today, so I'm not complaining. These wins feel like they are worth more because we really didn't fire at any point today. My biggest take away is that, although GA rightly says he thinks more about us than the opposition, we really have to rethink how

Play Bobby behind Humphrys? Then why bring on McIntyre in midfield instead of Metcalfe? And then need to take Swan back off again to have Metcalfe in midfield? I'm guessing Patto picked up a knock of some sort to come off, although I haven't listened to anything to know if this was just a tactical

1-0 up. But otherwise thought Exeter were really good. Give that #9 some decent service and he'd be excellent as he gave us some problems. Some strange subs from GA today that I didn't fully understand. Changing shape was right at half-time, but why bring on Swan to do that job? Put on Metclafe and

I think Humphrys will start, but just look out for if GA decides they need more of a target for when Exeter drop deep - that's Cook territory. I don't think he should start every week, but this is a spot where it might be considered.
We will see.
