That is kind of you, and of course it is. A theatre saying they can't sell single seats is talking rubbish. A good show shifts every ticket, and plenty of couples will buy 2 singles to get in to see one.

There is if the theatre is on sale with other agents (I used it myself for another show) but not in this case, alas.

You can only buy by phone if you want to sit where it will leave a single seat. Online will not let yet you split up a pair.
