![In July, Cumming guest-hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and in his opening monologue, he tells me, he “did a big rant about trans rights... People around me were like, ’You’re going to be deported.’” He worried about it the next time he left the country. Cumming has been a US citizen since 2008, and notes how frightened people are at the moment. “They’re scared for their physical safety. They’re scared when they go to the airport that they’re going to be held... I mean, those are real fears and I feel them too. But luckily, I have another home, I have another passport, another country, and another life there.”
That safe haven, Cumming believes, is also under threat, and we should be “standing up to the rhetoric of Farage, and reminding people that this refugee problem is the way it is because we don’t have a deal with Europe, because he brought us out”. He thinks we should also be “asking our government to stop trying to pander to the sort of moral lack that Farage represents”. He elaborates: “I’ve always thought this about Keir Starmer, [that] he just needs to be more of a leader, stop just trying not to get caught out all the time. It’s terrible the way that all these flags are now appearing behind him... just trying to sort of ape the aesthetics and messaging of Reform. Don’t do that. Have some f***ing balls and say that you stand up for decency, and you have a moral core that means you’re not going to let the most marginalised people in society be trampled on yet again.”

I hung out with Lois yesterday and we talked about these things. She is NEVER involved in ANYTHING like this. If you get a message or a social media DM claiming to be her, IT NEVER IS.
I've now heard from 3 authors targeted on X by a scammer impersonating Lois McMaster Bujold. Bujold impersonator refers author to "Eleanor Wood at Spectrum Literary", also an impersonation. Goal: to sell editing svcs. Scam is impersonating multiple authors & agents writerbeware.blog/2025/11/14/i...

Today is not the day to argue "oh so you want Reform to win then" as an argument for Labour's indefensible and inhumane anti-asylum policies. I would posit that if the international treaties against torture are what is holding your country back then your country doesn't deserve to get ahead and holding it back is a moral obligation for everyone else

Someone should ask Starmer and Mahmood whether they think the Kindertransport, for example, should have been a return ticket. Whether Alf Dubs, rather than becoming a Labour MP and now Lord, ought to have been sent back with his family to Czechoslovakia once it was liberated from German rule.
This contribution to the volume of human misery is yet another policy from Labour based on a false premise, in this case that refugees are overly attracted to Britain. It will increase bureaucratic limbo, thus making worse the problem of "cohesion" it purports to solve.

What is truly pathetic about Labour is that this is all they have got. They have failed so spectacularly already, despite a whacking great majority, to even attempt to govern positively that all they have is punching down on marginalised groups and saying "oh but Reform will be worse".
