Inspired.

Inspired by puppy killer, Kristi Noem.

Doesn't that tell you everything you need to know about Mahmood and the U.K's weakling of a far-right pandering Prime Minister?

Anyone with a shred of integrity should have sacked her already.
From the Times, about our Home Secretary:

"Mahmood is said to have been inspired by Trump’s homeland security secretary, Kristi Noem, who has overseen the president’s mass deportation policy."

I hung out with Lois yesterday and we talked about these things. She is NEVER involved in ANYTHING like this. If you get a message or a social media DM claiming to be her, IT NEVER IS.
I've now heard from 3 authors targeted on X by a scammer impersonating Lois McMaster Bujold. Bujold impersonator refers author to "Eleanor Wood at Spectrum Literary", also an impersonation. Goal: to sell editing svcs. Scam is impersonating multiple authors & agents writerbeware.blog/2025/11/14/i...

Today is not the day to argue "oh so you want Reform to win then" as an argument for Labour's indefensible and inhumane anti-asylum policies. At least be honest and own that you're defending racist policies promoted with genuinely far right talking points. Don't try and pretend this is "progressive"

Labour’s latest attack on asylum seekers is cruel & counterproductive. How does it help community cohesion to hold threat of deportation over vulnerable people? We don’t need an arms race with the hard right over asylum, we need safe routes & European cooperation #bbclaurak

I would posit that if the international treaties against torture are what is holding your country back then your country doesn't deserve to get ahead and holding it back is a moral obligation for everyone else

The descendants of the people who funded the Kinderstransport statue should come and take it back.

The U.K. doesn't deserve to display it.
Someone should ask Starmer and Mahmood whether they think the Kindertransport, for example, should have been a return ticket. Whether Alf Dubs, rather than becoming a Labour MP and now Lord, ought to have been sent back with his family to Czechoslovakia once it was liberated from German rule.
This contribution to the volume of human misery is yet another policy from Labour based on a false premise, in this case that refugees are overly attracted to Britain. It will increase bureaucratic limbo, thus making worse the problem of "cohesion" it purports to solve.

Reminder to the U.K. Labour Party that if you're introducing racist, xenophobic migration policies to 'head off the far right'...

No you're not.

You're just becoming the far right.

When Tommy Robinson is cheering you on, you're doing it wrong.
Shabana Mahmood on the BBC this morning talking about desperate people fleeing war and persecution as being given a "golden ticket" and "handouts" and saying she's got a "moral mission" to take them away from them

Shabana Mahmood and the Politics of Extortion
Labour's strategy of telling its supporters to back Reform-style policies, or get a Reform Government, is the politics of the protection racket and it is not going to work

Deep breath, once more for those at the back, seeking asylum is not illegal. No matter route used, which considering Labour has closed pretty much all the last remaining alternatives means irregular ones.
Anti-immigration sentiments are stoked by politicians like Mahmood, not people seeking safety.

New Long Covid Treatment trial combining zepbound (same thing as mounjaro) and pacing for symptom management.

Zepbound def has anti-inflammatory effects, so fingers crossed that it finds something useful. #LongCovid
Just heard about this huge (49 state) long covid trial using tirzepetide (aka zepbound) one of the newer glp meds. It’s run by researchers at scripps, funded by the eric & wendy schmidt foundation. It looks like it is still enrolling, fully remote participation:

Any MP supporting this is a total scumbucket who should not get your vote.

And if you are U.K. based - you need to email / call and *tell* them that if they support this, they will not get your vote.

Reform win by getting their policies enacted - and this is what that does.

At this point official accounts for the U.K. Labour party are just spouting far-right anti-immigration talking points.

I think they probably need a block list akin to the one for U.S. government agencies.

Anyway - this one seems particularly obnoxious

In order to implement the "Sweden Plan" most places will need:

To stamp out empathy
To demonise & scapegoat vulnerable people
To frame "freedom" as a Hobbesian state of nature entirely without governance for the common good

This is what happens when the far-right are allowed to dominate.
In order to implement the “Sweden Plan” (which is code for doing nothing much, and not what happened in Sweden) most places will need:

More body bags.
More crematoriums.
Lots of pre-filled “do not resuscitate” and “do not transfer to hospital” forms.
A population too distracted to care.

What is truly pathetic about Labour is that this is all they have got. They have failed so spectacularly already, despite a whacking great majority, to even attempt to govern positively that all they have is punching down on marginalised groups and saying "oh but Reform will be worse".

And tbh - people who can move often should move.

Part of why the U.S. is in the mess it's in is because of this notion of 'U.S. exceptionalism' that keeps them from collectively learning from experience elsewhere.

Their small diaspora (relative to pop size) helps maintain that.
America thinks it has an immigration problem. It’s about to have an emigration problem.

I have family and friends in this age range who have already left…
"In 2025, 40% of women aged 15 to 44 say they would move abroad permanently if they had the opportunity. The current figure is four times higher than the 10% who shared this desire in 2014, when it was generally in line with other age and gender groups."
