It’s entirely possible for a person to encounter just “bad” people in a story or in real life. You’re not saying there ain’t any good ones…you’re saying there ain’t any good ones here. Entirely plausible and a truth.

If a story is about “bad” people it doesn’t necessarily imply there are no “good” people. I ain’t got time to soothe your feelings.

I’m thinking of this because someone took issue with how I portray southerners in my work. As if I my work must portray a universal southern experience rather than the narrow one that exists in my story. 3/4
