The Matriarchy honors the generations of African Americans who faced adversity in the fight for full citizenship and rights in the United States. We especially uplift Black women leaders, past and present, whose vision, courage, and labor continue to hold the line for all of us.

Students at one of my local high schools walked out today in protest of the federal government’s use of ICE. I’ve also seen many walkouts shared from all over our country-say whatever about our younger generation but these kids are calling out our country & express it accordingly #thekidsareallright

It doesn't have to look exactly like what happened in Germany to be fascist.

Fascism is a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.

Thank you to Tara Reichenbach, former USAID Foreign Service Officer, for powerfully naming what the Matriarchy means to her. When women lead from feminine strength, rooted in care, wisdom, and courage, we don’t just lead. We transform. This is the leadership this moment is calling for.

A holistic approach improves quality of life because people do not live single-issue lives. USAID embraced this model for decades. We thank former USAID Officer Tara Reichanbach for sharing this insight on The Matriarchy Podcast, Episode 18, and for her years of service.

The dismantling of USAID threatens more than programs. It undermines a model of leadership women have championed for decades: leading with values, partnership, and long-term vision rather than force.

We were honored to be joined by Tara Reichenbach, a former USAID Foreign Service Officer, for a powerful and eye-opening conversation. Tara breaks down how the dismantling of USAID has had real, devastating consequences, including derailing critical research for an HIV vaccine.

How women are represented in media and pop culture matters. When women are represented with depth and truth, the whole culture levels up. Every authentic story shapes how we see each other.

This Thanksgiving, we're reminded how meaningful it is to pause and sit in gratitude. When we take a moment to acknowledge what’s good, our relationships, our small victories, our growth, it brings us back to what truly matters. Gratitude slows us down, softens us, and reconnects us to each other.
