I straight up fell for propaganda, and for that I am ashamed. I apologize for spreading uninformed and hurtful messaging in my upset state. The focus should always be on the failures of our leadership and I let myself fall away from that.

In looking for some higher cause for them going against the majority of their party, I accepted an infographic depicting the 8 senators and donation amounts they received at face value. I now know that was misleading and ignored funding of larger proportion from many other outside groups.

So I've been doing some reading and self reflection following this response and I'd like to correct myself. It was wrong of me to link these senators' actions with AIPAC and other pro-israel PAC donations. There is no credible connection here.

They turned the tables back on themselves with nothing we can do about it. Nobody is up for reelection. None of them have to care for years. Even if they never worked again, they’d still have 6-7 figure AIPAC donations to live off of. Fuck everything.

Polling showed more and more people understanding that this is a Republican shutdown executed to hold our rights and benefits hostage. The people in power were fucking scared. The reins were being grappled away from them, but these 8 Democrats smacked the rest of the party down.

I’ve seen the same for Ocarina of Time :/ first time I disliked a video in ages

Overall, had a great time and am happy to have been there. I think the highest compliment I can give is that it was well worth driving into and across Boston on a Friday evening.

I also wasn’t aware until I showed up that Roadrunner is a standing venue, making this my first time being in a pit(?) I felt a bit awkward at first, but it was a fun new experience, but I reckon it’d be much better with people I know and being able to drink without worry of driving home afterwards.

Of course, the main event was killer. Snarky Puppy are such a fundamentally groovy band and they all play off each other so well. Such an inspiring group of people. About 6 or 7 songs in I checked the time and was blown away that it was already 10PM. Slipped me how long their tracks are haha.

The show was sick! Sungazer was a great opener. I definitely need to listen to more of their music. Teaching the drummer to count to five with quintuplets was a fun bit, and Adam Neely has loads more stage presence than I’d ever expected. Still don’t forgive him for plagiarizing Sideways though lol
