This is why I’m skeptical of claims that furry is somehow uniquely insulated from corporate influence (like in the oft-seen meme below). It probably *helps* that ppl frequently use furry art and their fursonas to explore transgressive sexual fantasies, but I don’t think it’s so cut-and-dry.

I really love the phrasing in this passage from Aikhenvald’s book on evidentiality. “…linguistically incompetent and generally not worth talking to.” Absolutely savage.
