Wealth is not only measured in cash. It’s assets too
When people say Elon Musk has added x $bn to his net worth they don’t mean he has that in cash in the bank they mean the assets he owns (in his case shares) have increased in value.
It’s the same principle here (obvs at a much smaller scale).
