Yes, it happens. I’ve bought stuff again for the sake of a pretty Obi or a slight sleeve variation, a U.S. pressing sometimes. But mostly I buy duplicates because I’m old and borderline senile.

I have a copy of that, and yes it is good fun. I’m looking for South American bands who weren’t only enthralled to Sgt. Pepper. Not rock, necessarily, but something that came from the garage; or the ditch. Maybe my limited understanding of the scene is making me appear culturally ignorant.

I suppose my question is this… where are the Brazilian pop kids with guitars and fuzz pedals? Where is the stuff without string arrangements and the interminable cha cha cha shuffle? Surely there is an underground below the already explored Brazilian underground? Something grittier and dirtier…?
