Maybe this is obvious, especially because Hot Frosty dies in police custody at one point — but in case you weren’t aware, the movie was conceived in the wake of the George Floyd protests, which the scriptwriter acknowledges as a major influence (from letterboxd.com/russellhfilm...).
An excerpt from a post by the scriptwriter on Letterboxd: “yes, the movie’s got laughs, yes, it’s very silly, and yes, it’s got a very Hot Frosty... but I really, really tried to make the heart of the movie something that felt real to me. learning to love yourself, learning to find ways to move on. learning to make the most of the limited time you have on this planet. (and, as Vulture correctly pointed out, learning how to try to persevere in the face of police abuse of power!)”

Went for a hike last weekend, the jays around here are definitely used to hikers, lol — landed in my hand without even offering any food or anything. 🪶

Went looking for mushrooms to ring in the fall. 🍁

It’s still early, but we did see these shaggy scalycaps, and I got some phone pics of some spiders. Spooky season is creeping in!

I got the invite here and was like “ahh time for a fresh start from the hellsite”. But then I didn’t post anything for months, and started questioning what I even cared to say that didn’t make this another angry void to shout into.
