two strong women holding protedt signs that say "the earth is hot, rights are under fire, and i'm tired." the other sign says, "out here for the people who can't be." independence hall is in the background. two signs that say, "stop being pawns, topple this jawn" and "this jawn is out of pocket." jawn is inherently a philaephia word that can be used as an adjective or noun in almost any sentence. my favorite sign of the day "stop protesting my pap smear...it's weird" resist fascism sign with resist spelled using pride flags, a raised fist, the earth, and a uterus. the other sign has muskrat outside of the white house. the sign says no kings, no nazis, and she doesn't even go here - from mean girls.

Parque del Amor is so beautiful 😍 El Beso is so much bigger than we thought it would be!
El Beso is a huge sculpture of two lovers sharing an intimate kiss. The sculpture is approximately twelve meters wide and three meters tall. Two people hugging. The sun is setting into the water behind them.

beehive rock, aptly named for its shape, is a point of interest in valley of fire national park. the rock is in the shape of a hill with horizontal lines wrapping around the rock, giving the appearance of layers. kind of like a croissant. there is one set of diagonal lines on the rock. all of the lines have been created by weather patterns over millions of years.

the sistene chapel ceiling. this picture was taken in secret, as photos in the chapel are not allowed. by coincidence, I snapped a picture of the creation of man. Michelangelo decided to represent the divine breath of life with God's and Adam's fingers almost touching each other. This famous gesture represents the creation of the first man with the Creator's index finger ready to strike a spark upon contact with Adam's hand. On the left side is Adam lying on the ground, and seems to be waking up, while God on the right side comes from Heaven surrounded by angels. The look of the Creator, represented with a long beard and gray hair, is determined while the look of Adam represented with a strong young man, seems to be one of naive amazement. Just below Adam is one of the Ignudi, while the background of the scene does not contain much detail.

My parents turned 70 and 75 this year. They never got to #travel much. Family vacations were the Jersey Shore or the Poconos. Surprising them with dream trips was a surprise for me, too. I never imagined being able to give them these experiences. BIG props to my husband for encouraging all of it ❤️

The doorway in this photo appears crooked to the left while the building across the way appears straight up. Pisa visibly leans from the outside but it can also be seen leaning from the inside.

Our kitchen is small and storage/prep space before a holiday dinner can be a bit difficult. One year, I used the oven to store cookies.

And then I preheated the oven...

This is the year we learned how to use the fire extinguisher under the kitchen sink.

The orange juice stall was such a fun find!!
a blue metal door, decorated with poke holes and a star. the door is set inside of a wall that has been painted blue. a set of steps, each splashed with colors; yellow, white, red, green, and blue paint are used. the steps lead to a walkway with walls that have been painted blue. small potted plants hang along the sides of the steps. a completely blue set of steps, blue walls, and a blue door. there is a bench and small table for people to sit and drink the orange juice they purchased. oranges and vines hang above. this is the 2nd part of the orange juice stall seating area. more blue, more hanging oranges, and some oranges in baskets. the basket is on top of a red and white cloth.
