When giving out the recipe, JY would refer to the second last thing thing as the "penult" and the third last thing as the "anti-penult". Because I had no idea what that meant, I'd always make a note of this when writing the recipe down.

For some reason, I'd often write out the recipe that JY gave out. Mum was a capable cook, but we generally had the same things on repeat and other than baking a cake, I can't recall her ever following a recipe for anything.
