Background Sync API

A way for reusing <template> for custom elements instead of repeating the template over and over.

A way to safely style shadowroot. "Safely" in contrast to unsafe-inline.

Thanks for asking.

Follow-up: Do not make any efforts to insert U+00A0 (No-Break Space) into your posts. Bluesky does not care at all.

Unsafe as in the content referencing them has to explicitly allow them or what kind of unsafe?

Previously, the gesture to continue reading from the currently focused element, started reading from the app's focused element, the web view. So it read from the beginning of the web page, instead of the focused element in the page.

That is weird. I guess that is why fast pages need animations.

Never met a user who wanted an app as long as a website does that job fine.

Because the browser wouldn't know whether you forgot to close it or you wanted it to be self-closing (as in a single tag like img).
October 28, 2025 at 2:23 PM
I thought it is that way because in HTML whether or not a tag is self-closing depends solely on the specification, in other words: there's a list. Custom elements are unknown elements until their JS registers them, so they can not be on that list.

HTML in email is cursed.

The main purpose of my site is to display text I wrote. I think it would work without CSS and without supporting modern HTML elements. So the limitation is probably the support for TLS 1.2.

I'm going to steal that context
Okay, let's see how well this comment does without context:

Imagine being an Apple customer complaining about others supposedly putting brakes on the baseline of the web.

Yes, absolutely.

Follow-up question:
What can I add if I want TalkBack to read my English webpage in English, despite the OS being set to German, including saying list item instead of saying Listenpunkt in a different voice?

Is turning links that look like buttons into links that look like links an UX/accessibility win on its own, or do I need user testing?

I’ve moved to Ubuntu recently. And even non-technical friends and family members have moved to, or are considering moving to, Linux these days.
