Early morning group of five Sandhill Cranes flying over our house. #Birds #CorpusChristiTX.

A small group of Sandhill Cranes are flying by this morning. I’ve counted close to 80 so far. Some groups are quiet and others very vocal. #Birds #CorpusChristiTX.

Some early morning good vibes. Sandhill Cranes flying by the yard from their nighttime roost area. #Birds #CorpusChristiTX.

I think these Green Jays were doing their Woodpecker imitation this morning working on some peanuts. #Birds #CorpusChristiTx

Wind don’t bother me! A few days ago this Gray Catbird put up with the strong wind to come by and check out the vintage. 🤓 grabbed a few sips of the water. #Birds #CorpusChristiTx #Nature

I haven’t seen the species for more than a week in and around our yard. Glad to see at least three of them show this morning. They were also a little vocal and I really love their call. Groove-Billed Ani. #Birds #CorpusChristiTX.

We are starting to get the return of some old friends to our area in the last few days. We’ll enjoy them for the winter. Even when we don’t see them in their hangout area a quarter of a mile away, it’s always fun to hear their calls early and late in the day. #SandhillCranes #Birds #CorpusChristiTX

We are starting to get a few new birds in the yard as we transition into fall. Over the last few days a number of Gray Catbirds have been coming to our water features. #Birds #CorpusChristiTx #RingStickupCam

This is my walking pal, Buddy, who is ready every evening for a walk around the neighborhood. Gives him a chance to take a break from his exhausting work of barking at Wild Pigs, Opossums and the like. 🤪. Great Pyrenees. #CorpusChristiTx

The night shift has started at the backyard drip and bath with the new crew fueling up. Raccoons. #CorpusChristiTx #Nature

As Hummingbird numbers start to dwindle and the majority have moved southward to continue their migration journey, a few stragglers are still hanging around our feeders. Ruby-throated Hummingbird. #Birds #CorpusChristiTx #Nature

I just can’t figure why they called this raptor a White-tailed Hawk. 😉#Birds #CorpusChristiTx #Nature

Did a little “birding while driving” today in some ag fields west of town. Was lucky see 2 Say’s Phoebes out and about. #Birding #CorpusChristiTx #Nature

One of our yard buddies stopping by for a morning convo. They got the looks and the attitude. Green Jay. #Birds #CorpusChristiTx #Nature

Last night we were so happy to receive an encore performance from the Cirque du Raccoon. To finish the show with an emphatic climax, it provided the always popular mic drop. Err, hummer feeder drop. #Mammal #CorpusChristiTX

When the Baltimore Orioles are migrating through our area, I try to put out some orange halves for them. I think they enjoy them. #Birds #CorpusChristiTx

After reading some online recommendations about providing additional perches for hummers by putting up zip ties, I decided to give it a try. I have 3 up and they are used constantly by those who want to keep close watch over “their” feeder. 😜 #Birds #CorpusChristiTx

Still having a decent number of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds in the yard on the feeders and visiting our variety of blooms. #Birds #CorpusChristiTX #Nature.

We were so privileged to get a private performance of Cirque Du Raccoon last night. So graceful. #CorpusChristiTx #Mammal #Ring #StickupCam

Decided to buy a close focus trailcam recently to try out in the yard. With migration, it picked up male Baltimore Orioles in the water feature recently about a foot away from the lens. #Birds #CorpusChristiTx #Nature

The Loggerhead Shrikes are in the area and one has been on out patio several times recently. Surprised to see a second one come along and give some grief. #Birds #CorpusChristiTx #Nature

This year we’ve had regular visits of Green Jays to our backyard peanuts. Hope they continue to stay in the area as I love their looks and vocal calls. #Birds #CorpusChristiTx #Nature

This masked bandit is also somebody who has a sweet tooth and enjoys a taste of the sugar water put out for the Hummers. I guess everyone needs that hydration.🤪 #Nature #CorpusChristiTX #Raccoon #RingCamera

Late in the day the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds are trying to build that energy up with some sugar water before sleep time. Funny thing is, there are only 3 holes to feed at on this feeder so they’re not very good at the math. #Migration #Birds #CorpusChristiTX

Baltimore Orioles around the water cooler recently. #Migration #Birds #CorpusChristiTX
