The only downside is going back to coming in at 7am which is gonna suuuuuck.... though the traffic IS better that early in the morning before they start closing lanes for construction... and I get out earlier which is nice. It'll just take awhile to adjust to it.

Big team reorganization at work and I'm going back to my old team next year... which I'm secretly thrilled about because tbh taking this new position was a bit of a mistake and I don't feel like I resonated well with a lot of these older guys. I was a lot happier with the old group.

You ever have a day where you need to change your pw at work and that simple act completely breaks O365 and you can't log into anything and IT spends half the day troubleshooting only to find out Windows hasn't updated since 2020.

Yesterday, as I was making my way through Grand Central and the NYC subway I noticed that around practically every corner there was a stupid ad for either crypto or some AI garbage. It's such a waste of ad-space that would be better used to promote Uma EN.

Literally had to run to Walmart on my lunch, day before Thanksgiving, to pick up 1x $1.50 travel sized can of shaving cream for my trip because I finished the one I had last trip and forgot I didn't have a spare.

Welp, after initially giving me an error message that this version of insta is incompatible with my current version of Android it just popped up with a login prompt and after initially forgetting my password I'm in! No ads! No random suggested and sponsored posts!

What I should do is clean up my music library and write a script to auto-sync it every time I connected my phone with some special handling to auto-chkdsk the the SD if it decides it feels like unformatting itself for whatever reason.

It's 2025! Why are we wasting engineer's energy on this AI nonsense when their time would be much better spent making microSD cards with 500MB/s transfer rates and better error correction so they don't corrupt themselves whenever you blink!

I do feel like microSDs have gotten denser and denser but the standard for data transfer hasn't improved at all and the data rates are utter dogshit. I'm at 6.5MB/s into 1.75TB SD card. It'll take forever (~75hrs) to fill at this rate, even if the data rate stays constant (unlikely).

Man large SD cards (>1.5TB) LOVE corrupting themselves when you're transferring large files or a lot of files. I have a feeling this won't be the last time I'm running chkdsk tonight.

I've had my new phone for a few months now and only now, a day and a half before my next flight to Japan, am I finally putting my bazillion terabytes (or a fraction of it) of music onto its SD card.
Up to now I've just been dual wielding it with my old phone.

Somehow... by some inexplicable miracle... my health insurance plan for next year has not increased in price. idk if the company is eating the difference or if the insurance company just didn't rise prices (legit unbelievable) but either way, not complaining.

Legal protection is part of my benefit package this year? Uh... what? I've never had a 'legal services' plan in open enrollment before. Is this a recession indicator? Like, what the fuck is this?
