I love the way they make and share books. If you’re ever in Minneapolis go check out Open Books– one of the loveliest bookstores on earth. I’m so excited to be taking the journey with Milkweed and I can’t wait to share more news about this delicious bite of a book soon.

COME BITE is a book of contemporary odes, verses of interconnection and presence. How do we steady ourselves now? More moxie to all of us! Honored to be in this troubadour and poet tribe. Taylor Swift: happiest birthday to you.

Thanks editors for picking this poem, which I wrote for my daughter and her moxie and her amazing sense of drama, for all girls everywhere who need good stories to grow up with, and for the fragile art of surviving our lives with the help of the right music!

You can actually play a match-the-poem-to-the-song game — and there are other poems by Diane Seuss; Ilya Kaminsky, Kelli Russell Agodon, Joy Harjo, Naomi Shahib Nye and Dean Rader? Also: How cool is it that today is Taylor Swift’s birthday?
