Featuring my series The Man Who Found Birds among the Stars. 7 5-star reviews on v.1: "... a story of flawed heroes and perfect plot, of hard science and tender hearts. It is intelligently written, fantastic entertainment for the imagination." amzn.to/2iTNuUd
#SciFiSat [1/5] It was getting harder for Capt. Nikalishin to find anything original to say in the many acceptance speeches that had been forced upon him, but he always managed to handle it. As he droned on, he let his eyes wander over the audience.

#SciFiSat [2/5] The ceremony was open to the public and he was looking for Wilda, whom he expected to be somewhere to the rear in her blue-and-white Food Service uniform.
And that was when he saw her …

#SciFiSat [3/5] … not Wilda, whom he immediately forgot – but a face in the crowd – a face that seemed familiar. She was sitting on the center aisle, about four rows behind the ranks of the spaceship crews …

#SciFiSat [4/5] … a half-familiar face atop a long, lean body clothed in an ESC uniform, with a mass of dark brown hair pulled back into a military twist.

#SciFiSat [5/5] Pausing in mid-sentence, Robbie needed only a moment to recognize who it was. Suddenly the whole hall was flooded with the memory of a perfume …
And when she realized he was looking at her, Fedaylia High Feather smiled.

New review on Amazon of The War of the Stolen Mother. amzn.to/QO5rPF 5 star with some interesting interpretations.
The Labors of Ki'shto'ba Huge-Head: Volume One: The War of the Stolen Mother
In the 30th century, Earthers make first contact with an intelligent lifeform called the Shshi, which evolved from termites. Following that contact, the Champion of the Shshi, the Warrior Ki'shto'ba H...

#SciFiSat [A bit of excitement from amzn.to/1x7n5nt The Wood Where the Two Moons Shine]
December 6, 2025 at 6:41 PM
#SciFiSat [1/5] Two Warriors leaped out of the guardroom in front of us. “Now we claim the glory of carrying the head of Is’a’pai’a before Ko’gwai’vim’a!”
“Not today!” said Ki’shto’ba and it attacked the guard at the left…
December 6, 2025 at 6:40 PM
#SciFiSat [2/5] …while Is’a’pai’a took on the right, shooting acid into its face, then jumping high to avoid the return spray. Over our heads, a couple of darts whizzed, but they skittered harmlessly across the enemies’ chitin.

#SciFiSat [3/5] I received Thel’tav’a’s mutter, somethg about damned hard heads of Warriors. Then she uttered her war cry – “Bao’kai’zei and ta’ta!” – and let fly another dart. This one struck straight into the frontal gland of the one attempting to spear Ki’shto’ba.
December 6, 2025 at 6:40 PM
#SciFiSat [4/5] It was quite effective – I suppose it penetrated the brain. The Warrior began to thrash about and Ki’shto’ba chopped its neck to finish it.
December 6, 2025 at 6:39 PM
#SciFiSat [5/5] “Thel’tav’a’s dart pierced its nasus!” I cried, for Ki’shto’ba was obviously puzzled as to what had initially felled its opponent.
“Ah, thank you, eyed Warrior!” cried Ki’shto’ba. “It was a timely hit!”

#SciFiFri [1/6] Sophie Chay was still sitting at the table, clutching her face and vocalizing incoherently in the Kemer language. The fork had pierced all the way through one nostril and was still stuck there.

#SciFiFri [2/6] And Crewman Haddad stood looking down at his left pectoral, awed by the spot of blood enlarging on the surface of his white Galley tunic. “¡Dios grande!” he kept exclaiming. “The glass cut all the way through my shirt! …

#SciFiFri [3/6] “I’m bleeding! I’ve been wounded in action!” A pleased and triumphant grin enlarged on his face, like the Cheeser cat.
December 5, 2025 at 3:39 PM
#SciFiFri [4/6 ] Dr. Souray had activated her personal com and was shouting into it through the racket, “IB! Souray here! Yo, bring a med kit to the Mess right now! I’ve got three people bleeding!”
December 5, 2025 at 3:39 PM
#SciFiFri [5/6] Maj. Gatling bounded into the room at that moment, his eyes bugging out. “What is this – a food fight gone wrong?” he yelled.
The noise coming from the Mess was rather intimidating …
December 5, 2025 at 3:38 PM
#SciFiFri [6/6] … as the two Captains pushed in, and Robbie’s cry of “What’s going on here?” went unheard. So he bellowed at the top of his lungs, “Quiet! ATTEN-SHUN!”

3/3 We had to call 911 and it seemed to take forever for them to arrive. I wasn't hurt and neither was the driver (thank goodness), but that was an unusual experience! I told the firemen I'd bet they never had a call like that before!
December 3, 2025 at 9:49 PM
2/2 When the driver sought to pull the wheelchair up the last step, everything slipped and she ended up with a leg pinned under the chair and I was flat on my back staring up at the sky on top of her freezing to death.
HELP!

To continue the saga of the dr.'s visit ...
I use a wheelchair transport company to get to appointments etc. Today we're having a whopping snowfall, but yesterday we just had a skiff. Enough to leave a little ice on my front steps.

Xrayed ankle yesterday. Not healing well - seems I had osteoporosis without knowing it. So I have to wear the "stupid boot" (knicknamed Bozo by one of my aides) another 4 weeks. Doc said I could take it off at night, but if I have to get up for any reason (guess ... 1/2 ...

I was going to attempt a #SciFiSat post, but I just don't feel up to it. Sorry, I'm sleep-deprived, I think. Sigh. Managing full-time home-health aides is trying.
