I don't remember the originals locking tutorials behind scans though, usually it just put button prompts on the screen

MP3 definitely puts its worst foot forward & it's the reason it's my least replayed of the 3. I'd hope in the era of the indie metroidvania boom they'd have realized people prefer to just play the game lol

Even a little bit of annoying quirky npc babysitting is enough to drag any game down, but Metroid of all things - especially if it's a major part of the game - that shit could completely ruin it QUICK
