Couldn't tell ya, it's definitely the first game like this I've seen that does it.
To be fair... The shroud mechanic means you can't actually see where you're going half the time [which I'm torn on] so alot of curiousity is diminished by lack of sight.
That might be why they felt the need to mark.

For what it's worth, and for better or worse, it's alot of like... just landmarks and quests that involve you going "Okay, found a thing" and that's it.

Oh lord I have got to turn off the inventory loss, I can't stand that shit... and yeah, weapon durability is just kinda funky since they also tend to throw anvils around you can repair stuff at... including... torches? Weird, anyway yeah, all fair enough.

That's something else I noticed in Enshrouded... ALOT of grinding, and I don't just mean level, you also gotta upgrade the flame so you can actually... go places.
It's a bit of a drag, but eh, it's longevity. And if all else fails, you can tweak difficulty options to your liking.

system of basically building up a village with citizens you rescue/resurrect is legit cool. Though yeah, there's... holy crap, it's like Skyrim levels of quest amounts and things to find... thankfully without any of the jank and Howardtude.

As for Enshrouded, it's definitely more of a fun exploration heavy hack n'slash. I do find the combat somewhat annoying sometimes [especially since hordes become plentiful] but it has a more simple progression system, larger world, more to find and do and the whole -

earlier state than Enshrouded.

The progression is right now mainly exploring and finding abilities and improving your gear, but I have high hopes. It also certainly got me to gasp a good few times through some of things you can do in the game, again, won't say what, keep it a surprise. -

Well, uh... cough...
Okay, admittedly, my love for Nera comes from... well... 'interests' I have, I shan't say more lest I drive you away.
Nera is a very water centric game, extremely so, it's like Sea of Thieves but with actual progression and... less fashion [for now?] and it's definitely in an -

I like Enshrouded, it's kinda like Nera but with more question marks and less water.

Okay no, alot more than that, but it's fun either way.

How I HOPE I look in those cases.
You can't match this kind of enthusiasm.

It's sobering to realize that just about every art form can end up in this sort of lull.
Like, no matter where you go, you might get stuck for similiar reasons to what you wrote, even though chances are [like this case] you show what you have to others and they'll love it, it feels not all there.

Oh this scene is hella familiar...

I'm genuinely wondering if anybody ever actually busted over my pics now... definitely not my usual thought process, hah.

It means be beat up the devs senseless until they actually gave him a decent game.
October 26, 2025 at 4:38 AM
I'll pay whatever it takes for a game starring him, and like, actual game, not those weird ball rolling things on the GBA or a racing game. Just ONCE, fuck.
