After months of harassment and bickering, my family and I compromised on watching _Gremlins_ and _Gremlins 2_ as a double feature. This Sunday. I'm giddy with excitement.

My buddy keeps trying to talk me into starting a business with him. This is why I won't. I've been a contractor and aged years doing taxes. It's awful, if you're honest.

I'm a simple man. I see buldak mentioned, I follow.

Does it?

I feel like I buy Apple dinner but when I order dessert she puts her hand on mine and says "That dessert didn't come from the Dessert Store or a known developer. I've gone ahead and thrown it in the trash for you."

And then I have to say "I know, but I want dessert" and order it again.

That one was legit.

Extreme tedium makes the time pass more slowly. So I tell myself my weekends are longer 🙂

I still get to spend a good amount of time pulling my hair out because I decided to build a minilab with Raspberry Pis. "Oh, MongoDB doesn't work on Pi 4's." "Oh, there's no official X image for arm64." "Oh, Envoy needs to be recompiled for Pi's, so I gotta set up cross-compilation." Etc.

Yeah, Claude's accelerated me massively. I'm afraid to think about how many hours I spent Googling tutorials, deep-diving in forums and mailing lists, etc trying to fix some obscure library incompatibility or whatever. Try to set up Prometheus, end up shaving a yak, etc.

How do you mean?
December 13, 2025 at 2:17 AM
It's at least half the reason I have a homelab and personal dev projects.

This is awesome! I love ANSI roguelike mechanics but this never occurred to me.

This is something like what I ended up doing (after padding the operator row). Though it wasn't as elegant TBH, I went forward and stopped accumulating the answer when I encountered an entirely blank column. Reverse traversal would've made it a lot cleaner.

Yeah, I did the same thing. I had three or four "Oh... no..." moments with this one 🫠

Gotta catch up, lol 🙂
