MA voters will decide whether to overturn a decades-old ban on rent control that will cap annual rent hikes. It’s people power versus the billionaire real estate interests.

Landlords are now hiring union-busting lawyers to silence tenants. Tenant unions build power and lower rent costs, and that’s why landlords are trying to crush them!

A LA landlord is using the courts to silence tenants who are organizing. @aclusocal.bsky.social is pushing back because tenant organizing is protected speech, not something landlords get to shut down when it threatens their power.

ICE raids are destabilizing Huntington Park and residents are navigating missed work, rent debt, and eviction threats. Immigration enforcement should never be weaponized to push people out of their homes!

ICE raids are forcing immigrant renters to choose between deportation or eviction. We need eviction moratoriums and strong tenant protections NOW!

LA County has reopened rent relief for tenants hit by wildfires and ICE raids. If you’re an Angeleno and behind on rent because of displacement, job loss, or fear of going to work–there’s financial help! Share widely so tenants can apply in time!

Landlords are using surveillance tech to spy on tenants 🤮. Now they’re getting sued by @aclu-norcal.bsky.social!! With AI and Wall Street gobbling up apartment blocks, tenant protection laws matter now more than ever.

Landlords are colluding to jack up rents—that’s not a “market,” that’s a racket. The recent verdict against Greystar shows that strong tenant unions and real accountability aren’t optional. They’re essential to keep housing fair.

Tenants are organizing because habitability isn’t a luxury—it’s survival. When landlords ignore major concerns, it’s renters’ health, safety and stability that pay the price. Housing should be dignified, safe and affordable for all.

Habitability isn’t optional. New reporting shows how mold, leaks, poor ventilation, and extreme temperatures harm tenants’ health. When landlords ignore repairs, tenants pay with their bodies. We need strong standards and real enforcement.

The latest analysis by @cplusc.bsky.social reveals what renters have long known: when landlords are overleveraged, tenants pay the price—through deferred maintenance, unsafe conditions, or steep rent hikes.

Trump's housing plan would slash long term assistance and put nearly 200,000 people at risk of losing their homes. Cutting vouchers is a cruel political choice.

The proposed #HUD budget cuts federal rental assistance by 43%! This would strip vital support for low-income renters, seniors, and people with disabilities at a time when housing costs and homelessness are growing. This is unacceptable.

Pasadena found 480 units where landlord-reported rent hikes didn’t match the city registry. The Rental Housing Board needs to make sure that landlords are complying with the city’s rent cap law.

Tenants at a UC Santa Cruz apartment building are suing over harassment, mold issues, and steep rent hikes. This is a publicly owned building and it’s completely unacceptable to be treating tenants like this, and to be squeezing them for profits.

California has spent $17 million to guard dozens of vacant homes in LA —homes that sit idle while people are unhoused and rents soar. Wouldn't it make more sense to turn these properties into social housing instead? 🤷🏽‍♀️
