also the music was very unmemorable. i feel like music in exploration-heavy games like metroidvanias should usually strive to be a lot more than serviceable. my favorite metroidvanias (bloodstained and more recently silksong) have all-killer-no-filler osts

i liked it up until the very end where all that was left to do was fight the final boss and get more upgrades, there was one specific upgrade that made me feel like the game was telling me to stop playing because of how hard i tried to get it.

as convenient as the "hey! go here to progress the story!" marker on the fast travel menu is, it makes me wish there were actual hints on where to go instead

i think one complaint i have so far is that because the entire world is set up as rooms you fast-travel between, it's a little hard to get lost in the setting unless you really go out of your way. it would have been nice if fast travel was always available, but with the different areas connected

i don't really have anything nuanced to say. i love the music i love the visual design i love the characters i love female protagonists who are FREAKS it's really appealing to me on all levels. gonna dual-wield this with a replay of my favorite rpg this month
