Got some sparrow action too! I have to go out of my garage now since the back is death from above from icicles and the front door, if you attempt the path, is solid ice. No salt for dog paws but temps below freezing suck. Feeding them has been a couple times a week until we get some melt off…. 18”.

Why yes, yes I would. That wasn’t there when I lived there I don’t think. Either way, yes. I have even seen the ‘60’s BW ones. I had a friend way more addicted than me. But I still have actual science applied. My new book I’m reading.

I feel ya…. 9’ ceilings on a 2 story house. Only 2100sqft, but the heat doesn’t stay and if it drops into the negatives, the baseline temperature is about 50, even with the HVAC running all night with the only heat point is the bedroom at 72. This is when the schedule starts heating to wake up.

This bigger version was in the bird feeder last night. I tried to shoo it away and it gave me a dead eye look so I left it. Checked the bird cam after dark and the raccoon was gone. They are getting hungry as it gets colder. This weekend should be interesting.

I knew I’d seen this storm before. Brooklyn 2016. Hey, the bars were open since the bartenders lived upstairs and opened up the places. It was a fun time watching people unbury cars with a Walgreens scraper.

Just went to the American Museum of Natural History this weekend. They updated the gem and mineral section. It was amazing. My mother is a geologist so yea, my front yard growing up had a lot of these. :)

I have to say my in-laws are the best. They take the time to think out gifts for the nerdy guy that is hard to gift. New addition to my Dr Who stuff. I already had the Monsters one and it’s signed by some of the older actors I’ve met. This new one adds the science too! Can’t wait!

My mother had her Masters in Geology/Geochemistry. Growing up I got to see a lot of mines and abandoned gold/silver mines. I used to get Geodes for XMas and annual trip to the Tucson Gem & Mineral show. :). My recent Albany trip I had to check it out. :)
