Thanks to everyone who checked out my destroyed Shakespeare artworks yesterday. Not sure why they had a little "moment" on this platform, but I appreciate it. Here is a higher-resolution image of "Macbeth," from my series Ten Tragedies. You can see the complete set at www.tedreichman.com/art

finally got some decent images of Ten Tragedies, the visual art I've been working on for the last few months... this is Othello. You can view the whole set here www.tedreichman.com/art.

RIP Eddie Palmieri! I took this pic backstage in Istanbul in 1996. At this moment, Eddie was telling Braxton that he and his friends were listening to him in the 70's.

My new artwork Ten Tragedies with dog for context and algorithmic encouragement. It's a set of ten Shakespeare plays I took apart and put together again. The color is the yellowing paper - I only used white gesso.

I enjoyed this. I never talk about sports online but I have been saying for years that Tatum seems like he’s cosplaying as nba superstar. But my teenage son thinks Tatum is “cool” (I asked). It’s like the Strokes/indie sleaze era…

Let’s also take a moment to recognize Christian Marclay’s ingenious design for this cd booklet.

Here's a detail of some of my recent visual art. I've been chopping Shakespearean tragedies into tiny bits and putting them back together again - not that that's a metaphor for anything. This is "Othello" - gesso and paper collage on canvas, 20x20in.

Had to uncork the good stuff last night. I'm slowly working my way through a pile of astoundingly good new music cd's that showed up in a local chain store. Screenless listening time isn't the answer to the unbelievably bleak situation we're in here in the USA but it helps for an hour or so.

The pianist was playing "This Land Is Your Land" at this moment... JFC this is grim.

I haven't written the traditional year end post yet, but I did already accomplish a new year's resolution: I put up a page on my website for my visual art. In 2024 I started transforming worthless 78's from a pile left in my garage by the previous owners into paintings. www.tedreichman.com/art

I read "Capitalist Realism" and most of "K-Punk" this fall and deeply appreciated a lot of it even though I remember disagreeing with Fisher's 90's music criticism in the Wire. I was NOT expecting a cameo appearance from him in the NYT magazine story about Hunter's affair with Weedslut.
