My Google Nest detect just announced that there was smoke in the basement. I ran down there to find nothing. It was a false alarm however nothing was logged in the app? ?? Kind of scary…

I am giving away a JetKVM that I backed on Kickstater. It's a great little device used to remote control a computer. Used but in great condition. Details in Discord (just search for my discord)

I am giving away the UniFi Hi-Capacity Aggregation (USW-Pro-Aggregation) that was also featured in today's video. This is a great working switch that I actually bought used and want to pass it along to someone else rather than selling it.

Details in Discord (just search for my Discord)

So many comments about not wearing a hat and glasses in the last one. Everything from losing my nerd credibility to thinking that it’s an AI avatar. Thanks for noticing and the laughs guys! These made my day! Also, ZFS is awesome! Have a good one!

Home Assistant to the rescue again! Just had a small leak from the kitchen sink’s garbage disposal. Notified on the first few drips!

I really like fixing bugs. There’s something about that instant gratification, especially when you get confirmation from a user and the metrics agree.

This one’s extra satisfying. Redis memory usage down, and with it, our cloud costs too!

This is a family tradition and recipe passed down from my Japanese grandmother. It’s inari sushi. It’s sweet and salty and only has rice and deep fried tofu. It’s super easy to make and we’ve always stuffed them with more rice than the traditional way. Our family calls them “rice bags”.

It’s server upgrade day! It’s not just about better specs or hardware, it’s about rethinking how everything fits together. Every upgrade challenges assumptions I made months (or years) ago and pushes me to make smarter choices that will (hopefully) last a few years.

Yes, the new UCX-Fiber will fit in the network mini rack (barely). We just need an STL!

If you’re using Cloudflare DNS to monitor your internet connection, packets are being dropped, unlike Google DNS.

My automation reset my ONT 10 times in the last hour. It’s not you, it’s them.

My JetKVM just arrived! It’s incredible how the design of this little device makes something as technical as a KVM, feel so personal.

Finally found a filament spooler to print that doesn’t require a degree in engineering just to assemble it.

This is going to help with some of the cheaper filament I buy that isn’t wound properly and gets tangled!

The PiKVM has a new trick up its sleeve. It's the PiKVM Switch Multiport Extender and I have been testing it for a few months now.
What questions do you have?
