You could just get a smaller battery solution with a transfer switch that covers critical stuff? Might be way simpler to get installed too.

if a user activates CarPlay / android auto, GM can not collect a lot of usage data that they can then sell. Not really sure it's a good move on GM's part but they feel they can offset the drop in sales with more subscriptions and data sell?

this one will set us back by 18k but we'll get tax credit for 30% of that since it's a battery system - the base system is about 12-13k but we added extra batteries
