I latched on to Waterfox about a year ago, which is a long-running fork of Firefox. That said, I'm not sure if it has the specific features you're looking for though, as my criteria was just "Firefox without the crud".

Sure, you may lack a bit of sense of adventure for that trip, but the sense you do have should last much, much longer because of it!
