That's it, the US political institutions have fallen. This is an official White House press release, announcing their fascist overthrow of the country

They are creating an indeterminable "other" that they can use to arrest and detain whoever they want. There is no centralized Antifa organization...

Good luck getting home today #Halifax

My wife has been stuck in traffic for 30 mins in the South End already and has only moved a couple blocks

This is the car centric hellscape that Houston and Friends wants

Mark Carney always continues to impress me. Especially when he can go into more detail like he does here with the Economist. Many people think Trump is a fool, and obviously he is; but Carney understands that he isn't an imbecile. He wouldn't be the president otherwise. Carney is who we need rn

The Speaker is incapable of mediating. When PP speaks he gets quiet and attention. However when Carney speaks he gets harassed and heckled, and has to shout to even be heard

Since PP returned to parliament, this has occurred almost every time Carney speaks

The Speaker is laughable and pathetic

Credit and debit not functioning across the country today. Spent more than an hour in Superstore in Truro today b/c the POS systems weren't accepting card

Also seeing people say that Superstore and Shoppers in Halifax were also affected

Then future expansion along the orange section, which would capture ~55k people

The announcement of this investment would spur development; allowing builders to avoid expensive parking requirements, and create hubs for commercial businesses to thrive, with heavy foot traffic to support them

If the Provincial #NovaScotia government actually invested in rail transit, it would probably look like this. Initial service along the red section, which is within 3 km of ~180k people*

They would reroute buses to funnel them into the new stations, and permit increased density nearby

Not really, many "highways" in the UK use a similar roundabout design

Here is an example just outside of London of a huge roundabout design which could easily support the traffic that the 111 sees during the average rush hour

And takes up a fraction of the space that the massive interchanges do
August 26, 2025 at 5:38 PM
The intersection of Burnside Dr and Akerley Blvd is 5% of the area, and practically supports the same number of vehicles (2 lanes each direction); as the interchange between the 118 and the 111

This kind of wasteful land use is bankrupting #Halifax and other car centric North American cities

I went to Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor last weekend and rode an ebike for the first time on the beautiful carriage trails;

so of course all this week I've been pouring hours into researching everything available, watching YT videos and reviews, and gathering all the information I possibly can

Plus I met this pretty little princess on my walk home 😍

Nothing beats walking to CHKN CHOP on a Friday night in Halifax

However, I do think being in walking distance may be my downfall. It's just too delicious

If we had fully funded the Rapid Transit Strategy when it was released, we'd be more than halfway finished implementation. The report was released 5 years ago in May 2020

Amazing turnout today by #BikeHFX to speak out against Fillmore's ridiculous motion to halt bike infrastructure development

Imagine if this many people tried to show up in their cars? Chaos. And on my bike back home for work; gridlock all the way around the commons

Received this from councillor Cleary regarding my email about bike lanes. Lots of support out there, keep it up! #Halifax

The kitties are glued to the election too, feeling relieved but disheartened #cdnpoli
April 29, 2025 at 1:48 AM
This is getting beyond ridiculous. This is almost too incoherent to be the election interference he is intending. It's unspecific enough that each side is going to say it's the other. Cons have shown they'll take advantage of anything after using the Vancouver attack for campaign slogans #cdnpoli

Plans for the former #Dartmouth Shopping Centre on Wyse across from the old bridge. You can also see the outlines of neighbouring developments in the area as well. Once these are all complete, this could be one of the most dense areas in all of #Halifax

#Jamaica is incredible, and the weather is HOT, but everyone is amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate our honeymoon

Did I mention how hot it was?!
