Many thanks to photographer Sara Escobar for taking pictures of our exhibit presentation at the PhotoVogue Festival for The VII Foundation, which has just finished in Milan. It was an honor to be invited to have the "Ruatoki" project be part of this year's Square Mile initiative:

Such an honor to be included in the NYT The Year in Pictures. It's a wonderful way to wrap up what has been a challenging year. It was a great idea to include quotes from the photographers about how they created those images.

It was my first time connecting to the Belarusian photographic community, largely living in exile now. I hope that PhotoArtDoc festival will run in free Belarus next time, so my family can go and see the exhibition without fear to be arrested on return for traveling to the "unfriendly" country.

So exciting to see this project exhibited in Vilnius, Lithuania, the place where my mother was born and spent her early years. The ring my daughter Lola is wearing, who also shares the same name, belonged to my mum and was probably made there sometime in the 1950s. Thanks to @mihalenko.bsky.social

Very excited about "In My Shoes," the project we have been working on together with my 17 yo daughter this year. Besides being among the winning projects at the PhotoArtDoc a photography festival at the intersection of documentary and art—it is set to become a book curated by Katya Bogachevskaya!
