To be fair, that happened because I was having trouble with my eyesight going between a phone screen (for a walkthrough) and the TV, a problem I've only just started to resolve and which affects a lot more than just these old JRPGs.
That said, I really should get back to playing them...

I could elaborate any which way with this but there's little point and tl;dr it sure is swell being in poverty-restricting academic debt for a degree I didn't finish and shouldn't have started in the first place, all for a world where the dissemination of information ended up like it did regardless.
