100% on this. My addition is they figma missed the boat by not putting the right emphasis on the layers panel. The old model was a an axis. The web/apps is y. Subtle but makes a huge difference about how you structure a design with your content.
We're time traveling back to 1997 today, when WISYWIG editors were all the rage. In the decades since, web technology has clawed its way from that primitive state with semantic HTML that made accessibility possible and let content drive appearance rather than vice-versa.

Then Figma blew it all up.
Figma Dreamweaver
The dream of being able to generate working websites will remain out of reach until UX redefines its practice around semantic structure rather than layouts.

I've built out enough sites/apps now with all the major CSS approaches and am now ready to die on the hill that cube.fyi with vanilla css, at most css modules is the only way to go. I will allow for a build process to generate Design Tokens into respective native targets.
