I’d be interested. He’s not credible as a “journalist” and I think you risk legitimizing him. It’s not clear a conversation with him was better than in depth reporting on how the “pentagon press corps” lacks credibility in the same way the CDC, the FBI, DOJ, and the U.S. generally does right now.

I’d love to hear more about the thinking behind bringing him on. I’m sure it’s a difficult decision, one you know is filled with the risk of legitimizing even a person who lacks credibility to the degree Higby does.

The memo targets:
- Rules on how trans & intersex people are screened for their risk of sexual abuse & how info is used to determine housing
- Trans & intersex people’s ability to shower separately
- Protocols for sexual abuse incidents that take into account whether the victim was trans or intersex

According to survey data from the DOJ itself, incarcerated trans Americans experience sexual violence at more than 12x the rate of other incarcerated people.

The plans outlined in the memo effectively greenlight discrimination against LGBTQIA+ people who are already disproportionately at risk.

I see some are now frustrated that I suggest some Democrats may have culpability for ICE's rogue behavior.
