I want to learn how to do basic masonry and I realized I could set up a tutorial level.

Stage 1: Mixing and using mortar
Stage 2: Try to use a level to make the bricks level to themselves and gravity
Stage 3: Try to make it plumb a structure.
Stage 4: Put it all together and continue the pattern!

The pattern is messy but im happy with the Tarte Tatin I tried to make!

Finished the brickwork, put a placeholder pedestal where I want a birdbath to go and reshaped the to be muuuuch smoother.

Also transplanted one of the black cherry saplings next to the entrance to the back area. In 3 - 7 years, we'll have cherries!

The first of my raspberries are ripening!! :D

I think I'm going to remember 2025 as the year nature gave me unexpected gifts. First was finding out that we have fox and summer grape in the back, now it's randomly having wheat (yes, literal actual bread flour wheat) show up in the garden box I let go fallow this year.

I've no idea what caused it but the very tips of our daisies are pink!

At first I thought it was a trick of the evening light but no, the pink stayed regardless of the light, so I got a pretty good zoom-in of what's giving them that faint hue.

Sometimes, you make blueberry muffins. :d

Himbo Top raspberry flowers are so pretty.

And yes, I planted this variety explicitly because of its name and the fact that it could grow in this region.

'cause sometimes, you just want chocolate chip cookies.

My peppermint and spearmint were ready for their first pruning of the season, so it's time to make Spring mixed mint tea!!
