I was coming here to say as much.
My mother is one of the loudest anti-women I've ever met. Barely thinks women should be able to vote let alone hold office. It's a real rough starting point for any conversation.

When was Healthcare not a for-profit model in the US?
Without profit motive these drug companies aren't going to exist.
The potential for profit is what drives the investment that allows US drug companies to do massive R&D.
Nobody is recreating the pharma as a part of the state.

25 bn in a 5 trillion a year healthcare system is peanuts.
The health insurance profit isn't that significant. They're just the designated bad guy in the US system with responsibility for the rationing of care for everyone who isn't on Medicaid/Medicare.
