Ghost doesn’t work for what I need (multi media video paywalling) but I love Ghost and am a fan of them! :)

Yup! I will always fight for the rights of people to consume porn and NSFW content for this reason

This problem is pervasive across the web. Just this past weekend IG began mass censoring news accounts for reposting content. We are witnessing widespread censorship on apps like X and TikTok and I really wish platforms would stand up and fight for free expression

I agree that it sucks to give up owning the payment relationship. Right now because I do primarily video, ghost doesn’t work. But I do love them and if I was bigger and powerful enough not to rely on network effects it would be great! I support the work ghost does

No I couldn’t actually! I’ve spoken to them before. They do not have the features that I need. Love them though! But it doesn’t work for video people

Sadly Ghost does not have the features or the network that I need and it’s too expensive. Right now I’m sticking with Substack and Patreon

Unfortunately requires a bit too much to set up but I love the platform! There’s not really one silver bullet option

Overall I think @ryanhatesthis.bsky.social knows platforms better than anyone else and he's generally right. I'm also thinking of maybe just offering my content on every subscription platform and letting people choose. (Would that be crazy??)

I've also noticed that some ppl who claim they're simply not paying you bc you're on Substack, go verrry quiet when you let them know that you're on Patreon now. I think some people are more concerned with being sanctimonious online than actually financially supporting creators, which is a bummer
