Check out our latest preprint in @biorxivpreprint.bsky.social. Like charges usually repel each other, but here we show the right pair of aromatic cations can actually be sensitize each other for protein labelling, even inside a cell. Congrats to Vishal Hieu and Sam!

Check out our 2nd preprint of the week! It was a privilege to collaborate with @gustafsonlabsbu.bsky.social to demonstrate that our recently developed radical photocages enable quick and simple photo-induced trifluoromethylation of small molecule organics and API's.

Facile Trifluoromethylation of Arenes and Heterocycles via a Bench Stable Photocaged Trifluoromethylation Reagent
Herein we report a simple radical aromatic trifluoromethylation process that utilizes a cationic, aromatic sulfonate ester as a trifluoromethyl radical photocage. This chemistry allows for the rapid a...

Check out our latests work in collaboration with @taylorlab-chembio.bsky.social! We evaluated their biomolecular photocaged trifluormethylation reagent on small molecules, finding it effected rapid trifluoromethylation of diverse aromatics, including several APIs.

Happy to share our preprint in @biorxivpreprint.bsky.social on designed aromatic cations for photochemical protein ligation. We show intracellular labelling w/ green light, wash-free imaging, and mechanistic insights. Congrats to Pranab, Pooja, Sanwaye, and Vishal! www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
Designer Aromatic Cations for Photo-Induced Protein Ligation, Imaging, and Intracellular Labelling at Extended Wavelengths
Photo-induced protein labelling strategies have become essential tools in chemical biology, but most strategies require high energy wavelengths of light as input to drive reactivity. Recently, we repo...
