Today it’s dead relatives, tomorrow it’s living ones? Imagine the people who would prefer to have relationships with fake family members, rather than real ones with their own opinions and feelings.

Over the last hour, the Nooksack overflow zone is now inundated. Another 'major' flood is now forecast. Still probably won't be as large as 2021. But a whole bunch of water is headed north towards Abbotsford.

One of my best pieces of advice is counter intuitive but if you're scrolling tiredly on your phone at the end of the day, maybe don't?

It's not really the break your mind needs at that point. Lately i've been making myself actually go to bed when I'm too tired to read. It's been helping.

Isn't that misleading content?

I like a good "hook", like an interesting or unique scenario that sparks the rest of the story.

This one really work for me, for instance, despite this not being my usual reading genre. Maybe because I can immediately empathize with the main character?

Seanan Mcguire's Wayward Children series hits all those marks. I also highly recommend Ann Leckie's Imperial Radch books for a Murderbot fan (starting with Ancillary Justice).

My family had to replace our refrigerator this year, and unwanted screens were definitely A Thing.

Having to always seek out the least "advanced" version of whatever appliance is such a chore and a demoralization.

The Director from John Woo's Once a Thief is an old favorite.
