I expect that was Christchurch Cathedral (AoNZ) after the 2011 earthquake. Not sure about hard hats, but I recall photos of clergy with plenty of rubble in the background.

Bought a V'l'ctrix (apparently I don't like the e in ebike) 2 years ago and love it, other than the brakes which needed to be upgraded.

It gets me to work and back (12k each way) ~3 times/wk with minimal issues.

100% agree. DLS did say she was influenced by Wilkie Collins - another expert howdunnit exponent.

I still remember being blown away by my first reading of The Nine Tailors at age 13. I’d read a lot of Christie before then, but Sayers showed me what a murder mystery could be.

But even for those agencies it does apply to (my experience is with the ATO) there are almost no substantive payments made. It’s a Clayton’s compensation scheme.
