One of the best parts of gamedev is you can do whateeeever you want for placeholders. That character could've been a 2D jpeg billboard saying an entire wikipedia article at one point and the players will neeeever knowwww >:3

Shovel Knight in Crypt is INCREDIBLY fun, his soundtrack works perfectly for Crypt (helps that Kaufman already did an OST remix for it lol) and his gimmick is very unique
And they made it so he autogens shovel sprites so he can hold modded shovels!! :D
