We live in a relatively small town/city (Winchester VA) and a lot of the local service businesses (electricians, plumbers) prefer checks.

I'm getting the same sense about WaWa (which until a few months ago I'd never even heard of).

I did Austin to Winchester, VA twice in as many months a few years back, the first time straight through. No fun, not safe, would not do again.

It's like a Gelfling crossed with a Skeksis.

You should be ashamed. This makes me embarrassed to be a Democrat and a Virginian.

There has been a consistent drive in the Republican party to divide the country into "real Americans" and everyone else since at LEAST the days of the vile Newt Gingrich.

Sorry but no. That kind of shadow would only be cast if there were a very strong light source behind the other guy's head, which there is not; it would also cast a shadow on Trump's nasty wattles.

Given how uninteresting the last few TNG movies were, I forgave a lot with the first Kelvin ST. Lots of problems with Into Darkness, and I'd be hard pressed to remember anything about Beyond aside from them blowing the Enterprise up again - but I liked the casting and thought they were all fun.

Interesting - I was about to use Archer as an example of something I absolutely do not find funny. At all. Like, I don't even see what's SUPPOSED to be funny. But I have so many friends who love it and laugh their asses off at it, so...¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They have explicitly stated that they want to destroy democracy - why are people still acting shocked that they're doing what they're not even trying to pretend not to do any more?

My wife's absolute favorite album as well! She just squee'd when I showed her your post.

It sounds trite, but my experience was that I had to find something I liked. I hate running, I find walking boring, used to enjoy martial arts because the exercise aspect was almost secondary; for some reason though I love stationary biking. Put on a kickass playlist and sweat my ass off.

I splurged on an LG OLED last year and I love it - but I've had significant problems with my consoles connecting to it. It's apparently a known issue, something about HDMI handshaking, but I have to do a whole performative routine to get my PS5 or XBox to connect - the tv just says "no signal".

Which tv did you get?

The prevailing philosophy (if you can call it that) of MAGA is "fuck those guys" - whoever "those guys" may be - along with a healthy dose of "those people need to know their place".

I think he believes the Green Lantern theory of leadership is a real thing - just will it really really hard and it will be.

Once again I find myself asking - who benefits most from America's strongest alliances being destroyed.
