the worldbuilding is so vast and amazing and all the characters are well-loved by their creators in both games, they do not deserve to be simplified like this

also reducing the sequel into "goonslop" or "waifu collector" even though that's very much not the case if you actually paid attention, is just very disrespectful

you're not required to play it or read its lore if you're not into that (though it will help understand the worldbuilding better, and they're generally well-written)

but calling the og game trash, especially if you hadn't tried it out at all, is just... :(
