Graphite pencil study of the character 'Sister Ruth' from the 1947 film Black Narcissus. A woman in a nun's outfit looks beyond the viewer with a haunted look in her eyes, she has a very slight smile on her face. Close up pencil drawing of an eye looking to it's left/straight forward, with what looks like spiders legs crawling out from the bottom lid. There appears to be bits of spider web around the eye. I wanted to create the effect of a sinister symbiotic relationship. The 'host' looks strangely complicit. The artwork is entitled 'Home'. A graphite pencil drawing of a woman’s hand gently touching a man’s hand. The man’s hand is underneath the woman’s hand, his fingers also reach gently up to touch the inside of her palm. Background is plain. Pencil portrait of the character 'Roy Walker' in the film The Fall, played by Lee Pace. A man in a wide brimmed hat and cloak looks into the distance. His eyes are mainly in shadow. The image is monotone, pale background.

This artwork is pencil, charcoal and acrylic of a young woman looking to the left, she has her hand to her chest, and I have kept the saturation quite low, painting in sepia, golden tones. She has what looks like feathers over her eyes. She is visible from the shoulder up. I wanted to create an old fashioned effect with this art.

Watercolour, acrylic & colour pencil landscape painting on Arches paper. I have topped up with a few digi brushes to finish. A path in the foreground eases off to the middle ground. There are hints of hills with low thick cloud in the the distance. Red abstract colour is in the mid-ground. The painting as a whole, is quite low saturation, with greys, greens, and brown/ deep oranges as the overall colour tone. It evokes the feeling of an early autumn country walk.

A charcoal drawing on toned paper I did of a photograph I took of my friend's daughter. The angle is from below, and the lighting is creating subtle eerie shadows. I wanted a macabre effect to this art, it is unclear if this is a floating head... and also her eyes are translucent, so she appears in a trance. A watercolour painting I did of a path winding off into the distance. The light is that of a hazy winter afternoon. Either sides of the path on the horizon are what looks like hills that form a valley, the sky colour on the right is a warm yellow sky as the sun dips behind the hill. The light is hazy, and suggests the time of day is in the afternoon, the sky colour on the left still has hints of blue. This is watercolour, then touched up with acrylic. Pencil on moleskine sketchbook of a cat close up! The cat is called 'Nightshade' and hates AI A mixed media drawing of three garden birds. The art is finished off in acrylic, and a few colour effects are done digitally. The birds are almost in a triangle shape, hovering together. The birds are: Long tailed tit, Gold crest, and a blue tit. Pencil drawing of the photographer Lee Miller. The image is finished digitally, only one eye is visible. Her face is reflected, as I wanted to reflect the surreal quality of her work.
