They improved character animations and gave them much more fluid movements and lively expressions. They feel more natural and not so stiff like the past gens.

I do still criticize getting rid of houses/ buildings you can walk into and explore. If Arceus had that, they should have rolled it over.

Where they lack in areas they make up for elsewhere. For example— unlike SV, I haven't ran into any framerate issues of any sort or ANY bugs in my play so far.
